@darrylhaynes Yes. You could also tell in a '78 commercial. Personally I think the Earnie Shavers fight did a lot of damage. Why he took THAT fight, so late in his career, is beyond me. Even Ali said the same thing about the fight.

@dreman1970 Really??? Wow....I have been listening for months to videos of Ali from 1975 to now. I had noticed that 1977 seemed to be first time that Ali's speech was becoming affected. But it was still not that bad. It had gotten worse by 1978. In this commercial he sounds quite bad. There is a video of him doing an interview surrounded by the Jackson 5 on Youtube. Michael is right by Ali. It's from 1977....Ali sounds MUCH better than he does here. Ali's speech must really went downhill after

@MIKESOWELL It's not late 1978...Like I said, I have the original Ali Spinks I CBS broadcast and this commercial was on it....And the fight was Feb 15, 1978. And I'm ALMOST positive it was done late 77. Obviously it was no later than Feb 78...
