Because sport, sweat and performance are one of the basis of street culture, BKRW and NIKE have decided to join forces in a tournaments series set up in Paris this weekend, and 5 collab videos to launch them.
Directed by young french director Alban Teurlai on
the 5 athletes favorite sport courts, and revealing some hidden places of Paris where urban architecture takes over sport (basketball, football and
tennis) or, a place where sport is investing architecture (bike polo and running).
The films reveal the almost intimate relationship between the athlete and his own sport, and sport court. The camera turns on a panoramic view of Paris, then comes on the sports ground, then the athlete, to finally enter the psychological dimension.
Alban's camera is always trying to find each time the same intensity, the same gravity, the same fighting spirit, but also in a certain way to share the athlete's pain and his effort to overpass his failures and his doubt. Each film ends on a imperfection, emphasizing the humility required by the sport, the total fragility of this quest.
BKRW "ouvre le bal" with its founder Jay Smith and the running movie, filmed in the heart of the XIII arrondissement and the new district of the BNF (Bibliothèque François Mitterrand).
