Dehorning paste is applied to remove a calf's horn buds. Dehorning or disbudding is a necessary management practice to prevent injury to animals and handlers.
Caustic paste dehorning should only be done once. The horn buds must be smaller than a quarter in diameter and not taller than one half inch. Ideally you should disbud soon after birth. Good Luck
Do you have to do this more then one time? This looks like a more human way of doing this. I just got my first calf and he is almost 2 mths old. He needs to have this done. But I know I can't do the burning part. I could however do this, but does it only take one time??
Does it work? And how does it work?
