From the first few minutes of this 3+ hour video, Daniel Newsome and Giselle Anguizola will get you dancing! Starting with the Lindy Hop's most basic pattern, the swing out, and adding basic turns and moves, this is the most comprehensive and in-depth beginner Lindy Hop lesson ever!

Lead-and-follow technique is explained clearly with exercises focused on making both the lead and follow excellent dancers. 6- and 8-count rhythms round out this overview of beginner Lindy Hop. Techniques and style are shown just as the dancers from the 1930s and 1940s did it. Each section is presented with a clear breakdown of the steps, tips for dancing as a pair, and demonstration to music at the historic Triple Door Theater in Seattle. This DVD lays the foundation to add more moves and improvisations, teaching dancers to become one with the music. From the wild and fast to the smooth and stylish, Dan and Giselle give you enough moves to keep you coming back to this DVD for a long time to come. Not only have they been teaching students worldwide for over a decade, each is known as a leading historian and innovator in the Lindy Hop community. At Motion Lifestyle we believe the best dancer is the one having the most fun, and aim to make our students the best dancers on the floor. There is simply no better way to learn the Lindy Hop!

Dan Newsome has been a professional dancer, dj, historian and teacher for over 10 years. He is known as both a preservationist and a creative force in Lindy Hop, Aerial Dance, Blues, and Tap. In addition to teaching thousands of students at Denver's Mercury Cafe, he has traveled the world to learn, teach, and compete.

Giselle Anguizola is a professional jazz dancer and teacher. She is dedicated to the preservation of vintage dance as a historian and instructor. Her passion for history has allowed her to meet meet and study with influential jazz dancers from many generations.
