  • I know I am late on this video, but I am moving in a couple of weeks to Great Lakes to be with my husband his in the Navy and I wanted to know do you think it's better to stay on base or off base? And will I be in the new homes or the old ones?

  • @Ilovemysailor12 are you talking about just visiting or moving to? if you are e7 or higher you get to live in the new housing first. anything lower you have to wait 1 year in the old housing before getting into the new housing.

  • Sweeet, I'm leaving for basic training in January. I'm excited and curious about everything. Thanks for the tour. P.s. your daughter is so adorable.

  • @donniboi40 your welcome, and goodluck in basic training. my husband is a chief at live fire.

  • Thanx for sharing!

  • @ImPacman your welcome

  • coooll house :))

  • Great tour! Seems like a really good house, I didnt realize that on base housing was so good. Does the number of bedrooms in your house / size of your house depend on the number of people in your family? My husband is currently in the process of joining the marine corps and I wanted to kind of get an idea of what military housing is like.

  • @LePooke My husband is in the AF. We are in Italy till 2014 :)

  • @MorrWind120 you don't have to be a rank, you have to be married. If you are single you will get a dorm Or you can move out when you hit a rank. But you will move out into a house or appt offbase. If you live in military housing you wont get BAH . because all your housing and utilities are paid for. If you chose to get a house or apartment offbase you will get a housing allowence. The amount depends on where you are at and if you have dependents or not. The amount is not taken out of base pay
