Lotus Notes has an option to install it onto a USB dirve. When you take that drive and plug it into a Windows XP machine, Lotus Notes will start and you will have all of your information right there on that machine. When you unplug your USB drive the information is only on the USB drive which means that nobody else can access your information on that machine.

This option is also known as the Lotus Nomad feature.

  • Thanks for this. It works great. I've been using Nomad for a long time and it is flawless. It's so convenient to have my Notes in my pocket.

    It's important to note that the batch file line contains no space between the /v and the first quote sign. Like this:

    setup /a /v"nomad=1 targetdir=f:\ /qb+"
