  • Man, that car looks like rust is ALREADY on it.

What do we have nowadays that prevents rust, that they didn't have?

  • @EgaoNoGenki, I'm sure there was no rust on the car at the time. It hadn't been exposed to the elements yet. The paint just wasn't as shiney back then as it is now. Don't be fooled by the Tucker movie "The Man and his dream" when they went out to a salvage yard to find a car frame to develope their prototype on. All the cars they looked at were rusty. It was not because the 1 year old cars had rusted that fast. It's because those cars were 40 years old when they made the movie in 1988.

  • Try this with a modern car? Let's see, the front end would get ripped off at the bottom of the first stair. So many choices as to where the air bag will go off. Thanks for watching.

  • i can't wait to try this when i get my '49 back together xD

  • @Nza420 Just start out small,... like the railroad ties or the stairs. Then work your way into the steeple jumps. The roll of death is not recommended. :)

  • Don't try this at home.

  • Beware: Don't try this with a modern car. Consecuences will be catastrophic for the car at the very first test and you'll need to buy another one.

  • A new tire and a new rim (it got bent) during the test.

  • Nothing that Bo and Luke Duke didn't do.

  • Could any modern car withstand this kind of testing? It is also good that Dodge did show the ultimate damage at the end of the testing.

  • I'm guessing at least two cars were trashed. Notice when it jumps all the cars parked nose-to-nose, if you look at the back of the hood (bonnet) the frame/body is obviously severely bent upon landing. As the car rolls away from the landing and the front end becomes visible you can see various pieces of chrome flying away from the car in the dust cloud. They don't show that car driving directly away from the completed jump, either.

  • The resale of this car is going to be nil. WC Fields

  • @GrOmaha good grief he punished the dog crap out of that car... i wonder how many they actually wrecked.
