Allah (God) would do such a thing only if we had no free will, but God has given us free will, he has given the human beings a degree that is even above the Angles, but if we only choose the right path. If choose the wrong path than we become lower than animals, there is a reason for everything God has done and will do.

If I'm the one who needs your god, then why does he threaten to have me tormented for all of eternity if I do not give him praise? I do not expect praise when I intervene on behalf of justice or morality. When your god intervenes, he expects a lifetime of servitude in repayment. Your god could, if he so chose, simply deliver all souls to heaven. Yet, he does not. It would take no effort on his part, yet it would mean so much to us. Yet, he does not. Your god is an illusion.

Yes you need to control your ego as ego will command you to the wrong path. Human being is created to worship & obey God. If you do not obey God and walk away from the path of serving him you will end up being the slave of others but him who have Satan on top of their pyramid of power. Satan has powers and forces that will take over your soul and life in this world. God does not need your prayers or worshiping you need God.
