This is pretty cool! I myself as a Tri-State Area native (NY NJ LI) got WNEW 5's Creature Features (NY programming) and also WPIX 11's Chiller Theatre (also NY)
Living high on a hill with the trees below us gave us great reception, and the deal was sweeter with a rotary antenna that brought in UHF as clear as a bell. That gave us Creature Double Feature from WKBS 48 and Dr. Shock on WPHL 17 in Philadelphia.
Man, those were the days!

I was in grade school back when Creature Features started on WGN ch 9 and I think it was the first TV show that I managed to get my mom to let me stay up late to watch - sometimes. I remember too that the very first week it was on they showed Dracula. Week 2, Frankenstein. And Week 3, I believe it was The Mummy. And as I recall they sometimes had a second movie not so good as the first one. As soon as I heard that music in this clip and saw the Creature Features screen I was back 40 years.

This scared the bejesus out of me back then.

Think Michael Jackson may have used this in thriller?

The name of this opening theme is "Experiment In Terror" performed by Henry Mancini...

@33vitus Remember the Creature model? It was all green. All you had to do was add a little red paint on his claws.

I went out and bought Henry Mancini's greatest hits after hearing the theme to this show. It's the theme from
Experiment in Terror. Loved all the old creature feature shows. South Bend had one too with a crazy witch played by a guy of course.

Yeah, I was 10 yrs old in '68, too ! Couldn't WAIT for Saturday night !! The intro was soooo scary! And my older brother (RIP) was into those model figures (In the box where u glue the characters together )(you new-skool kids don't know what I'm talking about ) then he got hooked on glue !!!!!!!!!! He had the orig. Warewolf, Dracula,& Frankenstien models in his room with fake spider-webs around his room !!

@kovik62 Right on, Kovik. I was absolutely obsessed with the classic monsters and the Aurora Monster models! Had Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, Godzilla and The Forgotten Prisoner. Didn't do any of them in the Glow in the Dark except for the prisoner. Man I miss being a kid in Chicago in the 70s

Thanks!!! Wow this brings back the memories. I too was often alone on Saturday nights as my parents would go out. Often, the intro scared me more than the actual movie. Great memories!!!
