@marcxopoco He was probably drunk

The clueless are posting overtime on this thread.
What a display of ignorance of boxing.
Go to it, halfwits.

Drunken Bert Sugar is totally incompetent at anything except drinking.
-
old fighters are always bitter and cynical like that about new prospects, fact is ali would whoop tunney in his prime
-
dempsey was a fine figther but i just could not bet him vs the following 6 or 7 guys...Ali...Louis..Marciano..
Foreman..Tyson..Holmes...and maybe Frazier and Holifield -
@PB2001PB Well that really proves my point!
-
@FlaviusConstantius Floyd Mayweather does
-
Rocky and Ali proved we all can wipe equally
-
@Muskratrowdy2 I doubt that. No fighter nixes a big money fight he thinks he would win easily.

@bloodgutsnglory Just to clarify, Gene Tunney never fought a black fighter in his career. During Tunney's heavyweight years, Harry Wills was about the only significant black fighter he might have faced. Dempsey received a lot of heat for not fighting him, but as things turned out, both Jack and Gene would probably have defeated him easily.
Tunney rated Ali as "mediocre at best."

From the 20sthru the 70s there was a boxing gym in nearly every neiborhood in america, now you can barely find a boxing gym. BOXING is regressing not progressing.
