I don't know exactly what is but the sound of this harp have something specialy that touches mee deep in my soul. Perhaps is tha sound close to long distance church bells. But its sound invites me to dream a better world and a better life to all people. Sometimes listenning it I don't know why but it makes me cry.

Are you related to a Debra Cathcart ? Because one of my teacherss last name is Cathcart

@evemctelenn It is NOT a military tune - it was first played on the uillean pipes, collected by Bunting in the early 1800s. I've always felt it to be evocative of the gentle green hilly landscape of Ireland, and find it obscene to hijack it for militarism.

Beautiful I think every garden should have a Cynthia playing for them so relaxing and peaceful.. I think the family of poor Jamie would be pleased you mentioned him in the vid.

I'm glad you find this little video inspiring! I look forward to hearing you play some day!
You are right, this is the Rose harp. Glad you liked the drums, that's my husband Eric playing them. :-)

Hi - intrigued - what's the other instrument playing along with the harp before the percussion comes in?
I love the sound of the wire-strung - this one sounds particularly rich.

Good question; rosewood marimba of all things! For the session, we had envisioned a British Regiment somewhere in the Orient, thus the finger cymbals and huge gong at the end. But pairing the marimba was a fluke... and it really worked out with the wire-strung and added an exotic element. And it is a dickens to mic the wire harps.. They don't kick out a lot of sound so a good microphone is a must. Thanks for asking!
