The Sad Story of Oiled Birds

Our best friend is Proctor and Gamble. That company donates all of the Dawn we use to wash birds and kitchen implements. It also donates laundry detergent. Wildlife centers have very little, and most comes from donations. It's at least 80% volunteers to staff. I'm staying "home" to help take care of local wildlife, but we have many volunteers at the oil spill. Bless them.

Shit happens! More birds are killed by vehicles each year than by oil. I hit three birds yesterday maybe four. They flew across the road and didn't make it to the other side. Life goes on.

So devistating. I feel so terribly bad for the animals. I hate how we use so much oil. We should just switch to biodiesel. It's cheaper, it supports local farms, and best of all, it's better for the enviroment, and comes from a renewable resource!

@Urstupidumbass It was very sad to see so many of these beautiful birds in our wildlife hospitals. Most of them died. We did our best in 2007 (Cosco Busan oil spill in San Francisco Bay) and released 421 back into the wild (in clean places). Seeing them swimming and free was very rewarding.

@MyWildlifeVideos busan as in korea busan? and did korea help with that?
Urstupidumbass 10 months ago
@Urstupidumbass The owners of the Cosco Busan were made to reimburse a lot of expenses, but money will never bring back the birds who died horrible, lingering deaths.... :(
