  • @feishtica thanks for uploading this amazing song! I used to interpret the lyrics the same way as you until my dad explained them to me. Turns out, it's not about a Turkish notable, as the song originates from the Western Rhodopes and Ibish-aga is Bulgarian Muslim. That makes much more sense and explains the poignant tone. All the best!:)

  • Yes, it's about a Turkish notable dying and his fellow - countrymen praying that he died sooner so they could take his young wife and his male children. Well, through the eyes of enslaved Bulgarians all Turks were bad people. :)
