Learn some BASIC economics!
Why don't they charge such high prices? (After all they're just an evil "for profit" industry") Because their competitors will run them out of business! Duh! If Calmart charges $20 for a can of coke and Safeway charges me $1, then I, along with everyone else will go to Safeway, running Calmart out of bloody business! Same concept applies to healthcare. Where their's competition, their is price control.

As a Canadian I pay a higher tax rate and I know that I will NEVER EVER have to worry about going into debt because I got sick.

If grocery stores started charging you so much for food that you would need to go into debt in order to eat.... then yes that would be a problem. Learn some human decency.

She is now up to $20,000 dollars in debt, and it isn't over for her. What would be your limit? $100,000.... $200,000 in debt before we say it is not good to throw people into a debt it will take them 20 years to repay. Sounds like a great system.
-
Yeah! How DARE she get ovarian cancer, go $20,000 into debt because of a for profit healthcare system and then she has the nerve to complain about being forced into indentured servitude....

You are right, to many Americans have this foolish idea that wealth follows merit. When in reality we all know that if you are lucky enough to get to a certain threshold you will have no more problems accumulating wealth.
America should be ashamed of itself for allowing it's elected officials to have come this far, as a 1st world nation, to this level of immorality regarding access to health care for everyone. This should have been fixed decades ago, as other nations have done. Shame on us for not demanded more from our government. Health care for profit NEVER worked well, anywhere.

TimeWarp66:
Your analogy is a bit off.
In this video, it's more like the grocery store taking money and not giving the grocery.
Aren't you going to be mad?
