It is an instantly magnetize or demagnetize steel tools and small parts. It works items over 1.3" in length and 1/8" diameter. It helps you easy and precise handling small and nuts in confine spaces, collecting metal items from inaccessible places. It helps you build-up your RC model in an easy way out, shorten building time and enjoy your RC driving in a longer time.

  • @brokenrevisited

A reviewer at amazon mentioned this issue and he contacted Wiha (the brand he had) and posted the instructions he was given in his review:

  • I have a question. I have a magnetizer/demagnetizer which looks exactly like yours, only with a different manufacturer name stamped on it. The "demagnetize" side does not completely demagnetize any of my screwdrivers... even after running them through to demagnetize they still have a slight magnetic force, still enough to pick up a screw (although not as strong a force as when I run the screwdrivers through the magnetized side. Am I doing something wrong?

  • I have a science question for you that we are puzzeled about. My dad & my daughter demagnetizes their watches when they wear them and so why is this? What causes their body to do this? Also, is there a watch that they can buy that won't do this?

  • at first the charge of the driver is 0, meaning its not positive nor negatively charged.

When it touches the magnetizer, the magnetizer charged the driver. The screw became negatively charged so it can now attract the screw.

On the other hand when the driver is touched to the demagnetizer, the negative charge in the driver was cancelled out by the positive charge of the demagnetizer causing its charge to be 0 again.

Thats the reason why the screw to the sticks to magnetizer part.

  • where do you buy this device please?
