  • Dont lissen to this. This is a bad use of a Jo staff it's not proffesional use.

  • is aikido jo fighting better than other martial arts bo staff fighting?

  • I get this feeling I need to record some actual jo training videos... Yes, have such a loose grip that should the jo even be parried it will be completely removed from your hands! :( Also there are four basic hand positions: 100%, 50%, 33%, and 25%. That is the distance your hands should be apart from one another. You never let them get closer than 25% as you will easily lose control. More over the jo has a great deal more function than just penetration.

  • @TakemusuAikidoNL too true... i just had my first ( ! ) Jodo lesson, but they already told me that thats the worst thing you can do.

  • Damedamedame, finger over the end means you'll break it on impact with a target. Besides, the moves in aikijo come from sword, spear and naginata (halberd) and are fairly equally represented.

  • Sweet sign!

  • I dont think this is the real view of Aikijo!!

  • IE a spear...this is a Tomiki view, i dont prefer this view. Aiki jo as its own asthetic
