All blades in 96 and 97 were so thick that it made no noise. B/c of that LHB compensated by using a big flag that makes noise which helps with the performance. I heard those swords caused the athletes problems in their elbows/wrist b/c of it's lack of give. The newer compulsory broadsword make 10X more sound than this sword in 97. There's actually little to no sound coming from the sword blade itself. Yep. Pc! A litlte history.

It's not a traditional weapon, only a new standard wushu broadsword, which has a traditional center of gravity: near the handle, so it is actually easier to use. When I first tried such a sword, almost dislocated my elbow, to get the snap out of the weapon. Although, the traditional swords (correct me if'm wrong) don't snap almost at all visually, but you can hear it a little?

After reviewing their videos I think that I like Liu Hai Bo better. He Jing De is good but Hai Bo's form looks a little cleaner. Also I like the way he pauses in his forms, dramatic! But then again thats just my personal oppinion.

Also the blade looks a little thicker than normal. Usually the snap of the blade is louder than the whipping of the flag.
