Complaint at Park 5-21-11, Saginaw Police Department

On May 21st, DFW NORML (with permit in hand) held a picnic in Saginaw. The local police department circled our picnic like Indians on a wagon. Once they decided they had enough, they walked up to our group and informed all of the men, women, and children, enjoying their food at picnic tables they were all going to be arrested for "inciting a riot".

We stood our ground, gave them a copy of our permit, and polity asked the police officers to leave us alone. The two officers left us alone, but the entire police department (we counted 7 cars) continued to circle our picnic and pull people over who left after attending.

This dashcam video was provided as a result of a Freedom of Information Act request, but they didn't honor the whole request - they purposefully omitted the radio calls associated with the event as well as the video the officers took from their cameras on their belt (they told us about them and one pulled his out and showed us. The police chief told us the cameras didn't exist.).

Yes - what they did IS A CRIME. However, we are in the state of Texas so prevalent police corruption is to be expected and Police intimidation is alive and well in Saginaw, Texas.

Freedom of speech, the police are going to have to get used to it, we are here, and not going anywhere. GET USED TO IT!! DFW NORML and our "Truth Enforcement" car are going nowhere! Get educated, and I mean YOU the police. Green lights, marijuana leaf, all OUR personal freedoms, tough shit if you don't like it, it is our right!

I wish either the audio OR the video was more clear. Kinda hard to get a sense of what's even going on.. Glad we stood our ground though!
