A few special ingredients--like freshly baked ciabatta bread or imported Dijon mustard--make a quick, simple sandwich seem like a treat. Dijon mustard and cherry peppers add gourmet flavors to make this panini a special treat on sandwich night.

Total: 20 minutes
Yield: 6 servings (serving size: 1 wedge)

Preparation

1. Brush cut side of the bottom bread half with mustard; brush cut side of top half with vinegar. Top bottom half with mozzarella, basil, ham, peppers, and tomato. Top with remaining bread half.

2. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add sandwich to pan; top with another heavy skillet. Cook 3 minutes on each side or until golden. Cut sandwich into 6 wedges.

  • @Monster73717 How is it not healthy? I ran this recipe by my dietitian and he said except for the fact that the meat is entirely processed (Which you can use your own meat as a substitute for) and the type of bread (which you can also change to something a little healthier) the sandwich is in fact very much a healthy meal. And as a plus It has a good mix of all the food groups.

  • Shredded mozzarella would have melted a lot better :)
