@meatwad4900 If you want to take a portrait and want all the face without much contrast... You can reduce 1 point of power from flash and shot at 1600 iso... You will get with only ONE flash a great ilumination but with noise that you can take off with noiseware from imagenomic...

@toobsguy lol yeah, i love that this guy is trying to help. but god dammit he doesn't make any sense! And what was the point of him holding up the Nikon camera? O_o

Shooting at the other end of a field? No flash has that reach no matter what ISO you're shooting at.

@Dombowerphoto With lower end cameras like my d60 i'm always using 1600 at raves and such. But I only use my d60 with my 70-200mm f/2.8 for the long range. Plus when I use it like weddings it's my 2nd camera and my main camera is a d700. Which I use the other lens fromt he "hebrew trinity" lol. Good call about the d700!
@Dombowerphoto
hi Dom, I am still wondering what is the difference between changing the ISO or aperature. I thing the effect of both is the same - both has an effect on the entire image. Or it isnt that way. Thanks for explanation. :-)

@GRtS92 remember these were with the flash on M mode it was not changing the power, if your shooting with ttl it will compensate better.

Very interesting. Would there ever be a situation where a very high ISO would be needed? I'm a beginner at all this stuff and just wanted to know.
