Video uploaded from my phone. Does this Fox have a seizure disorder or is it otherwise sick?. Can anyone tell me what is going on with this animal? I was told that this is a normal behavior for a red fox that is just smelling the air possibly for a female. This video is from hattiesburg, MS.

  • this is distemper... there was no foaming of the mouth. if he had rabies this would be mid way through aroyund day 6 or 7 . but its distemper

  • and retarded

  • Wtf lol its like epileptic

  • Is it like... retarded???

  • this si what happens when trappers arent thinning out the population.

  • Rabies

  • Even birds of prey can have the virus in their mouths from all the dead corpses of animals they eat that were infected, and so do crows. The virus is not only in the saliva but in the blood and dead tissue/muscle and nerves/spinal cord of animals and the brain as well. A cut on you where the virus also enters the body besides bites, and mucous membranes too and your eyes. A cave of rabid bats can aerosol the virus on occasion if it's highly concentrated in there.

  • All I know is that if an animal like that approaches you (and it's a wild animal) and it's acting funny, it must be killed, b/c they're not supposed to come that close to people. Lest it be a squirrel, b/c they do come up to you, but not coyotes, foxes, skunks, raccoons, feral cats that are aggressive, bats, dingos, wild dogs, and wild cats like cougars, bobcats and lynxes. On occasion, squirrels do carry rabies, so you have to be careful. Basically any fighting animal in the wild.

  • I know I sound terrible when I say that. I am studying to be a vet tech, too, but w/an animal that sick and dangerous, I waste no time in thinking what needs to be done. My dad was outside last Xmas and he came in and told me a skunk was outside sitting on the driveway and he was keeping our corgie back. I never went outside to look at it b/c I was scared at the time and yelled out the door for him to shoot it but he didn't and it took hours and he said it was still there until it moved on.

  • Daggum! You let it get away! You should've killed it! It's infective whatever it had, be it distemper or rabies!
