Amateur camcorder footage of the 2004 tsunami disaster. Rooftop view of two huge waves battering buildings along coastline of Patong Beach, then zoomed-in footage of flooding of city streets.
@odiumimbues well try being bombarded by cars trees roofs glass etc while trying to keep your head above water while the water moves 75-200 mph as it hits
A question of scale (hard to see from a distance). Look carefully at the beginning - those little obects on the beach are people. That wave completely engulfs the beach with a 20 ft wall of water. Anyone still there had no chance. (Banda Ache wave was 60 feet).
Rememeber, regular 20 ft waves you see simply crash. A tsunami wave goes back for miles - it does NOT crash. Essentially, the whole ocean rises up many feet for a period of minutes. Very different and very scary.
Those People from 0:09.. i was like :O

And that's what you get for deciding to build a town on the beach.

It's not the water that kills you, it's the debris- cars, heavy furniture, etc. And a lot of people don't know how to swim, yknow.
