Christmas In rural APPALACHIAN. I grew up here with the critters on the' french broad river. I worked the fields and the' Timber line. I learned to live from the land and sit around the campfire and play and write high lonesome Appalachian string music. Some say I'm the Smoky Mountain songbird gifted by words from my long journey thru the thorns and thistles of life. I guess this old toe sack and that guitar of mine have been seems everwhere out in the wide open spaces and is still lookin for that lost highway. It might be just across that next mountain that I know I will have to climb. Ah' better get going couse there is a lot of learning out there for a mountain boy. Seems its hard to tell the sheep from the wolves these days. Wish Popcorn was still around' nuttin like a good drink of Moonshine about 2:00am out there on that lonesome road...This song was written in my home town DEL RIO TENNESSEE in 1985 MERRY CHRISTMAS YEE ALL.
