Zimbabwe - DEFLATION

Everyone seems to miss the central point in all of this - Zimbabwe was a prosperous country, until they slaughtered all those white farmers, seized the farms, and handed them over to people who didn't have a clue. The UN ignored the vicious racist killing of whites, as did western media for the most part. The economy on the other hand - that was the one thing that couldn't ignore the bloodshed for long, and in a way, maybe those piles of dead white farmers, are reaping a sort of revenge.

Is gold used as a medium of exchange?
And has the situation improved since you wrote that comment two years ago?
-
@icecube45 its were you sell shit or trade stuff you have like trading a some food for some batteries or gathering gold using it to buy food or selling cows and chickens for silver or gold or food or a electrical device you might need. thats bartering

@Swifteagle yeh... that makes sense some how....
-
It could be due to the weather....
Weather tends to force people to work or to chill out..
in places where it gets very cold people have to work hard to keep warn during winter, on other hand in places where is usually warmer people don't have to worry about that.
This does not explain everything but it does play a role in the evolution of a community.

You can keep blaming the west for all of your problems, & accomplish nothing, or you can start taking responsibility for yourselves & what you have & have not done. I.e., you could start by acknowledging the slaughter of whites in Zimbabwe, & come to the realization that all peoples can be racist & cruel - whites do not have a monopoly on these things.
As I say, if the roles were reversed, & blacks had developed first, then the same exploitation you speak of would have happened to the whites.

Murder becomes the central point irregardless of whiny political rhetoric starting w/ once upon a time the evil white man...
You're right, the country doesn't belong to the whites; that has been made abundantly clear during the ruthless slaughter.
The attacks - a sad reflection on Africans who complain vehemently about white racism, but who hypocritically ignore its flip site - black racism. The only reason blacks weren't oppressing whites decades ago is that they were late bloomers.

why does a zimbabwe scholar ask German historian to solve the problem?
it's time to learn from the past experience.
lol, soon, the u.s. dollar will follow the same path.

When things get worse with the financial crisis, we'll do that here too. Anyway, how is life in Zimbabwe. Would you call it enjoyable? Or is it more surviving right now?
Would you blame Mugabe and was it a fault, to through the farmers out? (I know, I am quite curious :) )
How the fuk is it EVEN POSSIBLE to live like that?

Do you live in Zimbabwe now? If so, in Harare?
What is a barter system?
icecube45 3 years ago
Yes. I am here still.
Barter is the trade of goods or services for other goods or services with out cash or credit money being used.
EG:
My client is in prison and requires my legal services so he can get out and take care of his family. He has no money, but he is a gardener. I have a garden that I am too busy to tend. So he 'barters' his gardening skills against my legal skills and we strike a deal without cash or credit being used.
Any thing of value can be bartered.
