Part 2 -- DID the disciples die for a lie?

This is part two of a series examining an argument many Christians regard as among the most convincing proofs that Jesus was raised from the dead, namely, that Jesus' disciples willingly died as martyrs for preaching that Jesus had been raised from the dead. No one, it is claimed, would willingly die for a lie. In this series, the argument is examined and three refutations of it are offered.

Again God and Jesus don't lie. And the word has always stood for all eternity. Prophecy and truth lights on man play on words and modern translations lies.

Religious fanatics die for lies all the time. 9/11, suicide bombings. If the disciples really believed that Jesus was the son of god, sure, they'd probably die for him. But it doesn't make it true. People who die in the name of religion are dying for nothing at all.

This argument can be slammed in one sentence: The characters in my story did what they did for nothing if the other characters in my story had not really done what my story say they did... discussion over - By referencing ANY work of fiction against itself, you can 'prove' anything true
