@BrianEaZy The funds for Transit City come from the province, not the city.

@gricer1326 Everyone is willing to do their part, we recycle we pay taxes we do the best we can, but when families are unable to make ends meet, tax hikes are just not the answer.
the TTC is getting ready to hike up the fares again.
You should the article on cbc.ca today for toronto... " Toronto facing $774M shortfall in 2012"
The funds are simply not there !

@BrianEaZy Well we do have the funds (from Queen's Park) and a tax increase for such a thing would not necessarily be a bad thing considering what you've described about Toronto's vitality. I don't care how high my taxes are as long as they put my money to good use. Transit City is an excellent use of my money. The problem is people are selfish and never want to pay for ANYTHING, even if it helps them.

Awwwwwwww, I just took a look at your page ! you love streetcars! LOL
You are so cute ! Let me clear something up, I am completely for TransitCity I think it will create jobs and in the long run progress Toronto as a major city. However! I don't think this is the time to impose such a large project when Toronto simply doesn't have the funds for it !
In other words... If my taxes don't go up! PLEASE GO AHEAD WITH TRANSITCITY <3
It is already extemely expensive living in Toronto
I think what Ford is doing is a somewhat good idea, if 32 and 34 are replaced by the crosstown, it will permanently cut service off down Trethewey (32C) from what i know, i would rather see an Eglinton Subway with 32 and 34 running above instead of a streetcar line replacing the twins. some of these are good as LRT but some should really be left the way they are. I'm not hating on the Transit City thing but I really don't think some of them are such good ideas

@HurricaneNWG First of all, LRT is not streetcars, it's the other way around. Second, Eglinton needs significantly improved transit. It deserves more than just a bus. Service will be faster, more efficient, and more attractive. 32C can be easily made into a branch of the 41.

@gricer1326 well i understand, just i think part of the 1994 plan would've been better, its on wikipedia by the name "Eglinton West Subway", it was later cancelled in 95 and the hole under the original platform finally covered back up, and if the entire plan was re-rendered purely underground with compatability to one of the major TTC systems, it would also resolve the old "Red Light" issue which would more likely be encountered on the surface, I'm just sharing my view on it, thats all

@HurricaneNWG I've got no problems with you sharing your views. Also, I agree, if Harris hadn't axed the Eglinton line we would've already had transit on Eglinton available for expansion. LRVs on the surface section of Eglinton are supposed to be given priority (and if they aren't I'm seriously clueless as to why not)

@gricer1326
He's allowing Eglington, and it is so needed now.

@sega31098 Yes but he forced an all-underground line on us, which is WAY more than what's needed.
