  • the yellow wire from the PSU is connected to the live on the stereo as thats a 12V wire.

and earth to the black wire which is earth which is pretty much it.

im working on intergrating it into my case but its about an inch 2 big for my 5.25" bay lol

  • power cable on from the stereo / usually red goes to the 12v cable on the PSU which is taken from a standard 4 pin molex adaptor for hardrives and CD drives.

  • do your settings stay when you switch off power from the power supply? i just hooked up some car audio in my room, but when i cut power to the cd deck, i lose all my settings. i have the constant line and the switched line hooked up to the same power coming from the power supply. any help would be amazing cause i cant seem to figure this out.

  • @ekans0069 atleast! 2500w

  • i have a 2000 watt 4 channel amp what kinda psu would u recomend

  • that is perfect for a car styereo as car stereos run at up to 14.5 volts safely. and more info please on that thin sense line wire. also some PSUs use a button hooked to the mobo on the PC to turn on and off. how do you activate those PSUs when hooked to a car stereo? like turn them on and off.

  • my car stereo in my bedroom probably uses that but its being run off of a 6 amp bench PS at 13.8 volts. all you have to do is gang up all of the +12V lines together and then do the same with the ground and then hook it to the radio. I think that uses all of the PC PSU's amps.

  • i didnt think this would work b/c car stereos use lots of amps but maybe if you gang up all the 12v lines together like all the + sides of the 12V then you might get some serious amps out of it, enough to run the stereo.

  • you will need a good psu if not just plug it in take it out connect the switch wires once the fan kicks in plug it back in this worked for us

  • The positive 12v (usually red) to the red of the 4 molex adapter, then the ground wire from the stereo (usually black) to the black ground wire of the molex adapter.

there is a memory wire you can add aswell, i think you add it to the red wire on the molex adapter, but im not too sure.

    hope this helped.
