@bobanob1967 It's about childhood beeing too short, and the tree, the bench or the street of our youth where we can go back to remember the past and the dreams we dreamed there. Ending message is that now we are grownups only thinking about our selfish ambition but even if we don't share anything, we all have in common a tree, a bench or a street, the one of our childhood. Beautiful, no ?

L'enfance est précieuse. Il faut toujours aider les enfants à se construire, les aider dans leurs rêves d'avenir car les souvenirs d'ENFANCE ne s'effacent JAMAIS. Faîtes du Bien aux enfants. Je m'adresse aux parents et aussi à l'entourage, aux enseignants, aux proches. Les enfants se rappellent de tout.

@jelsc123 Oui c'est en français! Mais la chanteuse concourait pour Monaco. Ce fut d'ailleurs la seule victoire de ce pays dans l'histoire du concours.

Wouldn't it be good to think ( if this song had not been written and performed in 1971), that , if it were to be written now and someone of equal talent came on stage in Germany next year and gave it as good a performance , it would still win by an outstanding margin, and no pretty boy jumping around with a fiddle , or no gorgeous little minx in a little black dress could do anything to deny its deserved place as the paradigm of Eurovision songs?
