Is there enough dough for all the pieces of the house, or does one dough bring the front and a wall, meaning you need two doughs for the walls, and another dough for the roof? Cause when you were cutting the dough, it looked like you didn't have enough :-S

I find the best way to avoid a gingerbread house falling apart is to leave each join (so in the beginning, just two of those joins) until they set. I have never seen anyone make a gingerbread house and ice the whole thing in one go and have it stay there, we usually put books either side while the joins set. It may take a bit longer, but it avoids the heartbreak of your lovingly assembled gingerbread house falling and breaking to bits before your eyes. Just a tip :)

I cry when ever I see a gingerbread house. My mother made the best, till the day she died before Christmas. I cry when ever I hear or that has anything that has to do with Christmas. ;(
Its been three years, now I have to face it, and learn how Christmas cheers are around the house. Me and my family are going to make the house out of gingerbread! Now me and my family face Christmas as if my mother is coming back to meat us.
