VPC-CS1 at the Golf Driving Range - Camera Purchase Review (Read Description)

Quickly testing out the camera at the driving range. It's all at 60fps but on youtube, it might be 30fps after uploading and processing.

This a short review, and only in the comments. So if you're thinking of purchasing this camera:
In conclusion, if you're after a 720P resolution camera, and OK with a fuzzy left edge and corners, this one is for you! You can get this for about $70, which makes it worth it if you're after an inexpensive 720P camera that fits in your pocket and has a 9X optical zoom. If you're after a 1080P camera that produces great video, you're barking up the wrong tree. I've compared this to the iPhone 4's 720P camera, and even at a recording resolution of 1080P, it has more definition and picks up more detail. The iPhone4 is a 720P camera with good optics, so consider this a 720P camera with poor optics. I would make a better review video, but there are good videos out there on youtube, and this 4 minute video is more than enough to show you how it works in real life, and allow you to make an informed decision on the purchase of this camera.
Overall, I'm happy with the camera at a purchase price of $70, not any more though, as the video quality is subpar for a 720P camera, the zoom and compact size makes up for the poor quality, otherwise I would be disappointed even at a purchase price of $70. It's interesting to note that even at recording resolutions of 1080P, the definition and detail does not increase much, if at all, in that, the increase in quality is only due to the reduction of compression artifacts, and almost indicates that the CCD is only capable of 720P, this is only an assumption and I haven't confirmed this, but that's what it looks like when comparing the same scene under 720P and 1080P.
