    Good point, I never thought of that (although lots of songs are open to interpretations). But wouldn't it have been the same thing back in 1987 too?

    I wonder if it only went to #1 b/c Huey was on top at the time, so everything he touched pretty much turned to gold. Like if this had been a song by some obscure band, it might've flew under the radar then too.

    It is the Biblical reference.......although the song is not "Christian Rock", using the theme as a metaphor is too much for some people.

    Posted 7 years ago and still only has about 587k views! I'm ashamed of humanity.

    This was a #1 hit too, but for some reason it's gotten really obscure and you never hear it on the radio or anything anymore.
