Demo with 2008 Macbook Pro - Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition - Parallels - Hyperspaces - LG 24" LED Back-lit Monitors and Avert Fate.

I hope you all like my monitor stands :)

I know this is not a great demo but really just made it for a few long distance friends.

Thanks for watching.

  • Hi,

What resolution are you getting across all 3 screens? The maximum I can only get is 3x 1360x768 and im running an early 2011 macbook pro 13'' model.

I was hoping to get something higher.

    Cheers

  • @Mrkoolkat78

    I'm getting 3x 4080x768.

  • I got it all hooked up, wow, my eyes are going to need time to adjust. Everything looks somewhat fuzzy or squashed, what do you suggest? Did you install different drivers for Parallels? Where can I get normal wallpaper?? Thanks

  • @LoeserRealty

Try different display resolutions. But be careful, if you pick the wrong one it will take a little to get back to where it was because you won't see anything on your screen. If this happens, I'd disconnect it from the Matrox unit, reboot, then reconnect and I think it may go back.

For Paralles, it has something called Tools you have to install. Parallels should ask you to install Tools. Do a search for it.

Wallpaper - Google Hi Def Wallpaper there are lots

  • my friend says this degrades your cpu since this is from 2010 has your cpu been ok? thats the only reason i am not getting this yet. I don't think it will matter since i have apple care on my macbook pro, so if anything happens it should be covered. if i do get this do i need anything else, i have the adapters dvi to vga. if you could please respond that would be awesome

  • @awsomeswimmersurfer

No problems at all. Works great. I still use it every day and I'm on it all day long. Today alone I've been on it for 7+ hours so as you can see, this laptop is on all the time, connected to Matron running 3 monitors and I have no issues at all.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

  • Hi, I was wondering if you could give me a short tutorial on how to set this up. This is a great setup and Im REALLY wanting to do this for myself. Thanks :)

  • @LoeserRealty

For me no, I plan to leave the 3 at eye level and just move the Mac to the shelf.

Since I'll only need to look at it once in a while it won't be bad.

  • @spiderwayne Thank you for responding. Its interesting that you say that, I have considered raising my monitors in the same fashion, however dont you think it will be like sitting in the front row of a movie theater? I have a doublesight monitor stand that I am using with 3 19" monitors, I am waiting for the matrox to arrive.

  • @LoeserRealty

I have 4gb of ram. Yes, if I wanted to I could get rid of one of my monitors, and put one on each side with my laptop in the middle and it would work fine.

I can keep all 3 and use my laptop as a 4th with this setup. Been thinking about putting a shelf over my monitors and putting my mac there so I could use it too.
