loool the reason why u think maria carey can sing 2 octaves higher is becoz she sings from her throat, any1 can sing really high if hes doin it in a pop way! learn abt the differences of opera and pop!

sopranoxtina. Well why is it that people in the US think Mariah Carey is so astonishing? They all go on about her "whistle register" that only she can do.

People from the US say that Mariah Carey is the greatest singer ever. I personally prefer Kiri's singing, even though Mariah Carey can supposedly sing two octaves higher than Kiri.

Kiri gives justice to this piece, but i still find the original version from the Sound of Music the best... just my personal opinion, i hope nobody is offended...

There are challenges in life, but behind it, design and purpose, mine being to deter the atheistic mindset.

This song inspires like no other. I loved Peggy Wood's original visual portrayal in 'Sound of Music', and Margery McKay's backup vocal, which together inspired me intensely.

I scanned youtube for a another version, and this one tops them all. Acolades to Kiri, and the Royal Philharmonic, who together renew the emotives that that movie inspired. I will now go forth to ford those streams.

This is her song. She does it so much better than the rest. Check out Leontyne's version too.
