@regsappie OK my favorite movie site is imdb.com this is the link to State of the Union, Also George Orwell in my mind is a prophetic political writer and his works of Animal Farm written in 1941 and 1984 was written in 1948 also reflect hypocrisy of propaganda and government
When I was child/teen I was teased for watching these old movies. I know more about America from watching these movies and learning about the actors' lives than these weak wining occupy wall street kids. The more things change the more they remain the same, This movie "State of the Union" "BF's Daughter" "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and "The Fountainhead" are musts!
@AlbertMaruggi ..Truly Amazing and Prophetic ..and a bit scary. Who dropped that Idea in His Head...Small Govt vs Big Brother also How did you post your clip..and How can I find the World Government Clip...and Who was the Writer of the Screenplay? Thanks Reg
@regsappie that's from the scene before the Detroit speech, when he is eating the hamburger and before he speaks with Angela Lansbury. Very interesting comments in that speech, visionary almost to where we are not and will be in 50 or so years.
Best actor EVER.......although I must confess I really love the "horror" men like Lugosi, Karloff, Price, and Lorre......still Tracy was the most talented, simply amazing. Thanks for posting.

This movie, right before this speech, has Tracy's character saying, "I paid for this microphone". Yup, Reagan took that famous line from this movie.
