Absolutely, though depending on its construction and constitution it might in practice not be much better than the USA today (which started as a limited republic and has become a totalitarian democracy).

The united States of America failed because big business and Lincoln (being a talented spokesman) either hoodwinked or forced northerns to comply or face imprisonment or even death. Just to show what happens when a power hungry, anti property rights fiend comes into power.

a republic definately doses contain some democracy but that deomcracy can never act against the law of the republic.

I know what youre bout and I know the reason you perfer democracy is cause you hate folks better off than you and you want to lock them in a cage and spread their wealth around.

@oldhacks but they would argue that you have natural rights as opposed to arbitrary ones.. that's basically the whole idealogy there from what i understand

first of all you never signed anything.

scondly "constitutions" are based on Democratic agreements.

thirdly the second you "leave" you're going to end up joining with Some kind of society. and once that society settles the very first action it will commence is declaring its sovereignty with a new constitution that will have to drawn up and supported.. guess how.
