The Expendables: Extended Director's Cut! ON SALE DECEMBER 13TH ON BLU-RAY AND DVD!

This is the finale of The Expendables as it was shown in the director's cut. The biggest addition is in the music, in which Brian Tyler's score is replaced in this one sequence with Shinedown's "Diamond Eyes". Many people, including myself, expected this song to play at least once during the course of the film, most likely the end credits. Yet when the film was first released in theaters, it was nowhere to be found, despite being used constantly in the promos and even being made especially for the film (right down the the lyric "every one of us is expendable").

However, Stallone rectified this for this release and not only added the song to the end credits where many expected it to be, but also added it to the finale, which you see here. Enjoy!

  • Gotta say, I like the song, but it does not fit the scene at all. It's really ruined the scene. It makes look like some flashy music video. I'll take Tyler's score over this. I may skip the Director's cut because of this alone.

  • @thedirectorguy I don't think it ruined the scene per se, in my opinion you can just tell that it wasn't meant for this scene. Personally, I was just hoping to have it play during the end credits (which it did, yay!), so I was surprised when it started playing here as well. In my opinion, I can take the scene with either music cue. But that's just me :-p

  • just awesome

  • I think it worked :D

  • BOOM LAY, BOOM LAY, *BOOM*

  • This was fucking EPIC!!!! I would have given the whole movie a 9/10 if I heard the song just once in the theatrical version...I should really pick up this DVD. i rather own this version.

  • I actually liked the song during the battle. Yeah, it changed the entire scene's tone, but I felt it did better in this way in making it feel like an 80s action movie. I also loved how it cued at the credits. When the original version was released, I was constantly imagining the song kicking in EXACTLY how the directors cut did for the credits and was pleased to see it happen.

  • The older theme is like playing a Call of Duty game. This new song is so much better!!!!

  • I prefeer the song in the Trailer only. But thanks for share this directors cut scene.

  • 2:42..... i wonder if he touch her boob by purpose or accidentally

  • wow that song really ruined it
