Jerry Nadeau Wins At Atlanta, November 2000

The final 7 laps of the 2000 NAPA 500 at Atlanta, where Jerry Nadeau drove to his first victory in his 103rd NASCAR Winston Cup start. It was the first win for Hendrick's #25 team since March of 1991 when Ken Schrader won another rain-delayed race at Atlanta's old configuration. The video starts on the final restart when a late caution caused by Scott Pruett's spin on the backstretch stacked up the field for the final sprint to the checkers. Darrell Waltrip finished this, his final Cup race, in 34th place. This was also the final Cup race that Dale Earnhardt completed in his illustrious career, finishing a strong 2nd and congratulating Nadeau right after. Until the 2007 Brickyard 400, this was the most recent Cup race hosted on ESPN. Bob Jenkins, Benny Parsons, and Ned Jarrett have the call in a race I'd personally been waiting for since I first rooted for Jerry at Sonoma in 1998.

Ever look into getting some VCR-to-PC capturing equipment? I got one when I joined TBK.fameflame.dk in '05, and it's probably the best $100 I've ever spent. Being able to see this clip PERIOD is great, so beggars can't be choosers.

Just thought I'd run it by you. They're awesome little devices. :)

@international153 A new contract for broadcasting eliminated ESPN from broadcasting the Sprint (or Winston Cup at the time) and it went to TNT, NBC, FOX, and FX starting in 2001, but when NBC opted out of the 2007 contract, Turner and ESPN family of networks won the bids.
