@rweaving Ah i see, so you tend to get varying results from the basic model output, but when you see relaly nice models its because people have buffed them up a bit? Thats great to know, thanks so much! And again i love this model! If you ever have the time some how to vids on the polish up to the finished product would be great! ^-^

Wow, i love this creation! I’m thinking of getting a Makerbot, but to recoup some of the costs of the initial purchase i want to make things to sell. The main thing putting me off though is the wildly varying quality of final pieces, sometimes i see things that are incredibly stripy with thick build lines, then i see something like what you have created here that seems very very smooth. I don’t suppose you could offer an explanation as to why i see such huge variations could you?

@LordZombieJesus Acetone... That's the key. Acetone dissolves abs plastic, it is useful for smoothing the plastic. I also sanded this model and painted it with a mixture I made from abs plastic and glow in the dark pigment. There are photos Thingiverse of what it looked like before cleanup.
