The primary objective of the mobile school is to approach the street children in their own familiar environment to create a positive and constructive meeting place where the child is unconditionally accepted and respected.

The essence of the street work with the mobile school is focused on the self-image and self esteem of the street child. A negative self-image is a typical characteristic prevalent in most street children. As a result it's very difficult for the child to make a conscious and self-motivated decision to leave the streets.

For the street child, reintegration implies a long, hard process of adaptation and a complete change of reality, which requires a tremendous amount of determination and will-power. This can only be achieved if the child makes the conscious choice itself and believes in both the process and itself. The streetworkers must support the child by consolidating its resilience and encouraging it to find the courage to start this long journey.

Working on the self-image of the street child, means creating the foundation on which the further reintegration process can be built. For the mobile school this first step is of utmost importance: getting the child started. Every step forward is important, even if the end result is not reached. Therefore, humanization and prevention are likewise important objectives for the mobile school.
The mobile school is an instrument, with which the streetworkers can help increase the self-esteem of the street children. Literacy, numeracy, health education, creative therapy and game education are all elements of the mobile school that help confront the child with its capacities and increases the child's self-awareness.
