What is this? Unexplained lights in sky

I took this video a year and a half ago. I didn't post it because I assumed it was just some transformer explosion that was too far away to hear - although it did light up the whole sky. Two nights ago I witnessed a similar event happening in a completely different direction, much closer and much brighter. Check my videos for two additional videos of these things. No one has ever been able to adequately explain any of these events.

1omfg. dude, last night, me and my friends were chilling in my friend's back yard, and this SAME SHIT HAPPENED! We thought it was a transformer exploding, because the lights in the neighborhood all went out. the only problem with that, though, is that the source came from about 60 degrees above the horizon, and telephone poles arent that high. plus, the lights only took 10 seconds to come back on. if a transformer explodes, i though the power company had to replace it and that takes hours.

My girl and I saw those lights in the sky last night. Real bright and changing colors but it was farther away...what is it?
