ohh i see. haha, we totally had the same problem with the beginning too, but in the end my quartet decided that 1st violin & cello should lead together, and 2nd violin and viola can just try to follow them. it helped a lot for us. well, you guys aren't playing it anymore ( i think ) but oh wellll maybe it'll help if you ever come back to this =P

hey I'm playing this right now for 1st violin annd i think you guys are taking it too slowly in the beg. the tempo is unsteady at times.
also, the players besides the 1st violinist could look a little bit more into the music :P
but overall its pretty good. how long did you work on it for??

it was a little slow but that's because we had to take it safe cause we had alot of problems with the sycopations at the begining. i think that the other players in my quartet did the best they could and that it was great for only like a week and a half of practice.

nope it was montréal-edmonton suzuki summer exchange program.
I think our cellist enjoyed it, it's actually pretty difficult(i think) and the cellist also gets a few really nice lyrical phrases

finally a video of this Mendelssohn quartet is on youtube!!! I love this quartet... I played it this past summer at a performing arts summer camp.

what do you think of our performance though? i know the sound aint the best but thats cause its not a fancy camera or mic that taped us.
