I made this tribute for my good friend candrashamelle and learned how expressive David Wenham is,above all I know how rare such actors are in Hollywood!
For him I took an artist who is from Canada and has roots in Ireland/Scotland. This song/sound, Marrakesh Night Market, however is inspired from the eastern countries and their culture in Middle East, North Africa and in eastern Europe.
In my opinion the song shows passion, enjoyment, mysticism, sadness, might, also like the enchantment of the east and I think the sound fits really good with David Wenham, because he shows passion, enjoyment, serenity as well as sadness and fury.
(And one reason was, that he reminds me at Rosamunde Pilcher rubbish when I would have took a too conry song, and he is a too good actor for this cheap literature movies, anyway how they are named in English....but that is only my opinion!)
I hope he keeps up acting in good, different movies/series and that you all like the clip =) (And sorry for the bad quality, my windows movie maker sucks)
I took clips from After the Deluge (TV-Series), Dust, The Lord Of The Rings and from the Trailer Pope Joan. The pics are rom the internet, and the painting in the end is from Adam Cullen.
Tschüss, Cześć i Ceau! ( Think because my mother comes from Poland and my grand grandmother came from Romania and further.....so I probably took such a song ;-))
candrashamelle: Hoff du magsch, sosch sägs wenn nöd, ha eba ko pop/rock oder western musik gno, ha denkt mol was neus und bi dera musik gang i ab wai a radisle bi dem schauspieler, macht ihn no heisser als er eh scho isch (für mi) ;-) und a big sorry für di kurz knutschszena und hülszenana, meh viedoclips han i leider au ned zemmaschnida könne, min movie maker wär sos krepiert!!
LYRICS:
They're gathered in circles
the lamps light their faces
The crescent moon rocks in the sky
The poets of drumming
keep heartbeats suspended
The smoke swirls up and then it dies
Would you like my mask?
would you like my mirror?
cries the man in the shadowing hood
You can look at yourself
you can look at each other
or you can look at the face, the face of your god
The stories are woven
and fortunes are told
The truth is measured by the weight of your gold
The magic lies scattered
on rugs on the ground
Faith is conjured in the night market's sound
Would you like my mask?
would you like my mirror?
cries the man in the shadowing hood
You can look at yourself
you can look at each other
or you can look at the face, the face of your god
The lessons are written
on parchments of paper
They're carried by horse from the river Nile
says the shadowy voice
In the firelight, the cobra
is casting the flame a winsome smile
Would you like my mask?
would you like my mirror?
cries the man in the shadowing hood
You can look at yourself
you can look at each other
or you can look at the face, the face of your god.
