Today we will talk about Valdai. Lake Valdai is one of the most beautiful places in Russia, some 300 miles north of Moscow. It was there where the first meeting of a popular international forum was held 6 years ago. Since then, the Valdai Discussion Club has held meetings annually between Russian and foreign experts in different places in Russia. They usually culminate with a rendezvous of the participants with the Russian president. The city of Yakutsk was chosen to host the Valdai 2009 forum. One of its participants, Alexander Rahr, from Germany, is our guest today.

  • best part 16:30

    thanks for the interview

  • Ya,... I think I agree with that though.

  • I know.... Nothing is like the Bilderburg Group. I love Deutchland and Russia. Beer and Vodka! I have friends from both of those countries and I wish them all the best. Wish the US would mind our own business. It would be great if everyone could play nice and get along, but then the Bilderburg group wouldn't have any reason to exist. Or... should I say that everyone COULD play nice and get along if the Bilderburg Group didn't exist!!!!

  • Yep... At 07:35 he definately states that "twenty years ago we started with new relations, with new world, the NEW WORLD ORDER"..... I agree. If the US would start worrying about it's own internal problems instead of trying to fix everyone else's... but there is far too much corruption in the US government to "fix" anything. Looks like dark times ahead for the US which will also affect the rest of the world... what's bad for some is good for others. Buy gold.

  • I believe he said US would like to think of and keep Russia as they were in the 20th century. Nationalistic corresponds to anti-globalist? Not in the US. As things become more nationalistic the government gains more control and starts making it's own decisions regardless of the will of the citizens. Also, I wasn't talking or making a statement, I was asking a question. A great way to learn something or start a dialogue.

  • did he just say "stupid foreigners"?

  • Yeah, it makes no sense to hit itself further against the head. Russia does not want to be as the EU and the EU must understand the characteristics of Russia. lucky we people like Rahr between the boat sit

  • taboos for eastern journalists? Try to speak bout the holocaust in the west, then u know what a taboo looks like.

  • WRAHRrr Of the Lion, But we have no time to waist, :)

    .

    Good show - Thanks

  • I heard him mention "world order" still being in tact. I did not hear 'new' world order. I think these guys might be on the level. Hard to tell in at this time. The west has created a serious problem with it's meddling in everyone else's business. I would not trust any government but I know why don't trust my own government.
