And don't sleep on Marley Marl, many of a hip hop artist that you all came to love was produced by Marley Marl. From Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Cool G Rap, Biz Markie, just to name a few. Queens had many many hip hop artist from again LL Cool J, The Lost Boyz, 50 Cent, Run DMC, Capone N Noreaga, Craig G, Nas, Mobb Deep, Roxanne Shante, Tribe Called Quest, Pharoahe Monch, and I believe Big Daddy Kane was born in Brooklyn, and resided in Queens, not too sure, anyway just to name a few
