Saw Mike live twice (first time, I watched the whole show while standing next to Peter Tork and he was incredibly generous and friendly). Second time I was lucky enough to catch Mike outside the theatre before the show started. I simply walked up and introduced myself and he stopped to talk with me for fifteen minutes or so. Impossibly kind! Didn't know me from Adam, but 'cause I was able to talk about his work with some insight, he gave me this huge chunk of pre-show time. What class!

Very under-rated, maybe more people will find him after watching the new Lynx ad, which features this song. My personal favourite is 'Two Different Roads' although I also love 'Elusive Ragings' and 'Dance between the Raindrops' off The Prison album.

If I remember correctly, John Boylan pulled this Texas swing tune from oblivion to make it the hit it was. Being a songwriter, it's truly cool to hear a rough artist demo/idea, but some of those jerk/Hollywood types made those ideas palletable, or they'd never have been heard. And yes, I hate most (shootin' in the dark) producers, as most haven't a clue, but a few do.

I orginally got this on an old paper thin LP and was able to convert it from LP to Cd, as well as a couple more my two other favorites. If there is some way to eventually and them to my channel that links my site to yours, let me know. Presently I have a major malfuntion with my freemake video converter, windows 7, and norton security. I do not and never will take credit for any videos, all I want is to spread the joy and turn some people on to these tunes. Thank you for posting this video.

@dobbsiancant i don't feel sorry for him...i apologize for getting the years wrong. my bad. And i knew that Mike was basically the reason why we have music videos today...and i'm right in saying that he was always basically at odds with the Monkees producers because they didn't allow him to write and play his own music...and i also know that he wasn't rich when he tried out for the Monkees...

@LennonRevolution9 not true.she invented it in the early fifties and was marketing it herself by the late fifties.and she didn't 'help' invent it,she pretty much developed it by herself.she sold the company in the late sixties to gillette for fifty mil.mike got it all when she died.mike was at the forefront of music video in the seventies and for better or worse,there would be no mtv without him.he currently owns pacific arts corporation and video ranch.don't feel sorry for him.
