This is a showing of how you can dual-boot Windows and Mac OS X on your PC (something that I previously thought wasn't possible).

  • I also have an HP computer, but for some reason, after I install it, my computer won't boot. I think it said some message about "insert startup disk" or "startup disk not found" I'm trying to dual boot Vista and os x. Did you have this problem? what am i doing wrong?

  • You have to split it into two partitions. The easiest way for me to do this is to download and burn a software called GParted. It will allow you to split it into two partitions, and format them. If you want to do Vista and OS X, format the Vista part to NTFS, and OSX to unpartitioned. Then install an OS Selector on Vista to work on startup, then install OSX on your unformatted partition.

  • omg!!! i still have taht version of hp computer

it still runs fine and it is the best computer i ever had rather than a mac

  • Mine is falling apart now. I'm really hoping to get a new one soon.

  • Wow, a lot of you are tricked by this. He just has 2 separate HDs with a boot selector. No big deal there.

  • I wish I did own two HD's...

  • dude i got the same monitor!

  • I have a new-er HP computer, I install it fine, and then when it boots it will just sit at an image of an apple. I'd imagine this is some kind of error, but wanted a second opinion on it. Thanks in advance.

  • what i did is i used vista's disk partioner...

but befoire that i used to just use a linux distro...

but i think with iDeneb you can use the disk utilities and split the volumee.... just erase the volume, split it and use only one for osx86, and then leave the other one as unallocated space, then pop in a windows 7 dvd [or w/e u like] and run it and format that partition for that OS....

  • nope i have tryed 100 times and it wont work...

i haven't tried booting from exhdd yet so that is next for me ;P
