2057 is a Discovery Channel television program hosted by theoretical physicist Michio Kaku. It premiered on January 28, 2007 and attempts to predict what the world will be like in 50 years based on current trends. The show takes the form of a docu-drama with three separate episodes, each having informative stories ingrained into the plot. All three episodes aired on January 28, 2007.
Information is already post-scarcity, I think It will come as granted in western civilisations that intricate interactions are what to seek, not some gimmicky pokemon-like AR holopets. It's not funny how the passive 3D TVs proven to be a fail in 2011. Sensing eye position, customising the reflection and emulating depth of vision aren't near close to implementation or producion. One thing here really worked out well, it's the continuous preview after a video ends.

I wonder if these predictions are any more accurate than the predictions made for year 2000 in the 1950-60'ies. Remember they thought we would have robot servants by now, and self driving cars. Yes we have those things now, but even 11 years after 2000, they are still very limited in function.

Who knows?
Perhaps you'll opt for suspended animation in 2039...
...to wake up in 2156 again...

Wrong title. This part was actually called the city. There is the world, the city and the body in 2057. I think the world focuses on a couple of astronauts trying to create more energy efficient solar panels.

all this 3-D that goes through the eyes as a front-end is no use to me...I guess I'll have to wait for direct neural interface.

For 2057 he has pretty old fashioned laptop and a smartphone. But still a nice video. I wonder if people in the 50's will laugh at these predictions like we do at predictions made in the mid 20th century.
