A&K M249 PARA, Airsoft Machine Gun

This is my A&K M249 PARA shooting an old box. The gearbox is made up of all stock parts except for the gear shims and lubrication. All I have done is re shim all of the gears, lubricate everything properly, install better quality wiring and hook up a 10.8v 3300mAh battery.

It shoots about 290fps, and 25rps now without any expensive parts. Its perfect for indoor CQB airsoft games at Xtreme Airsoft.

The motor overheats after a few hundred rounds and you can hear it slow in the end of the short clip. Sorry for the shortness and low quality but I can't edit .mov files. I don't have the software.

Its a decent gun but the externals on the CA M249 are a bit better just because of quality control. The internals will probably need shimmed and lubed before it shoots well at all.

ok Im new to upgrading but what are Shims and what do you mean by shimming the internals?

In an AEG gearbox there are three gears. The gears ride inside steel or plastic bushings. There are small metal washers between the gears and the bushings that make the gears mesh together better and not wobble while firing. These washers are very very slim and are called shims.

Also look up Corvid. He has some pretty high rof.

There's also a guy with a DE UMP doing 50+rps.
