The Sacrifice

a short film that won a GOLDEN EAGLE award from CINE. I have an original signature of Frank Capra on the award for the Screen Play. The "SACRIFICE" was changed to "THE BRIDGE"when copies were purchased by a large religious organization. It has been used as a tool in the missionary programs of different religions. It was also chosen to represent the U.S. in foreign film festivals and copied in several different languages.

1978, original version shot with a 16mm arri. Original screenplay, but as a filmmaker I am eternally grateful that over 44,000 people have viewed it. It has been copied in four languages and several updated versions.

(earth) to the other side (eternal life) Read John 3:11 in the bible. The people are relaxed on purpose because that is how it really is in my world, they don't know or don't care that a sacrifice was made so they could live.....GREAT QUESTION ......You paid attention.

No, this isn't like john 3:16. God gave his son, but he's God, so he can create an infinite number of Jesuses, even bring the old one back to life. That's not a sacrifice at all.

I would have taken my shoe, chunked it at my son, it would knock him out and he would have stumbled and fallen into the water, then I would save the people. better solution. Even if I missed and my son got ran over anyways at least I knew I did everything I could. Awesome little movie though :D

It IS an inspired version, but the music is not inappropriate for the "Inspirational" target market. If Paradise is a "green & golden world," the 1st part of the film conveys that. Great story, Skipper!
