The snowpack around Golden, BC has maintained many weak layers throughout the winter of 2007-08. This informal stability test pops out the January layer. For more info on persistent weak layers go to: http://zacstracs.com/Newsletters/110/pwl-2007-08

  • Yer right...this is not a true rutschblock, but as we don't pack skis or snowboards it is better than nothing to show results in the snow. As snowmobilers we get most of our information from watching our sled tracks. This was just a fun thing to do in the snowpit following our shovel tests.

  • Not the right way to check weak interface, you just jumped in the middle, stand at the top and do a small jump with skis or snowboard.

  • Nice Snow,,,makes my mouth water..lol
